So one of my favorite appetizer’s (and my daughter’s FAVORITE even though it’s a little bit spicy) is the queso from Chili’s. It’s delicious and has just the right amount of spice to please all of our palate’s. I was browsing pinterest and found a recipe to create your own Chili’s queso. I tweaked it a bit, but here it is. You’ve got to try it – I promise it is delicious! And Easy!!
Ingredients Needed:
16 ounce package of Velveta
1 15 ounce can of Chili (No Beans) – Any Brand
1 tablespoon of Lime Juice
2 teaspoons of Paprika
1 cup Milk
1/2 teaspoon of Ground Cayenne Pepper
4 teaspoons of Chili Powder
1/2 teaspoon of Ground Cumin
Instructions:
1. Melt the Velveeta Cheese. You can do this on the stove or in the microwave. If you do this on the stove, do it over low heat so you do not scorch the cheese. Stir often until completely melted. It will help the cheese melt faster and prevent any burning.
2. Once the cheese is melted, combine ALL of the ingredients in a saucepan on the stove. If you melted the cheese on the stove, just add all of the ingredients into your existing saucepan.
3. Simmer on reduced heat for about 20 minutes. Stir often.
4. Serve hot with chips of your choosing.
This dip reheats great so make a big batch and keep it in the fridge. It’s also a wonderful dip to make ahead for a party! Enjoy!
